I wanted to take a picture of the two other fellows smoking right underneath the no-smoking sign. One of many signs plastered all over the walls of Starbucks.
I wanted to say something to the men sitting smugly, stinking up the whole place as I tried to enjoy my cuppa coffee.
Depositing the sign on the table might have gotten me in real trouble, particularly as there was a Qatari man sitting with the 2 others who were smoking.
Taking a picture of the two men sitting under the no-smoking sign. Same thing. You have to be cautious here taking pictures without permission, particularly of women and the locals. I wasn’t about to ask their permission.
Dear daughter told me not to say anything. That it isn’t up to me to tell them off.
So I left. Once again appalled by people who feel they are above the law and dismayed for those who feel powerless to do anything about it. Including me.
Yuck. Sitting in Starbucks always spoils my coffee. You’d think I would have learned that lesson by now.
